With a potent combination of talent, beauty and wisdom beyond her years, Maya Delese Gilbert has taken Hollywood by storm in just a few short years. Only five months after her arrival in Los Angeles, she booked the national show "I Wanna Be a Soap Star" after beating out several thousand hopefuls for the spot (in her first real Hollywood audition, no less!). After her brief stint in the world of reality TV, she made several soap opera appearances before successfully making the difficult transition to mainstream success. In less than four years, she has starred in numerous independent films, made several television appearances and is in talks for both big and small screen projects through the next few years. Last year alone, she completed three projects, which are now in post-production: the short film "Mary Mary" and two features, "The Broken Hearts Club" and "The Welcoming." She has worked with some of the entertainment industry's biggest names, including Spike Lee, Mariah Carey, and rappers Nelly and Snoop Dogg.
