Rebecca Blumhagen


Rebecca Blumhagen (Sam) recently wrapped production in a starring role on the feature film ‘Other Plans.'  Other recent film and television work include ‘Extinction,' ‘Lefty Loosey Righty Tighty,' ‘Adam Underground,' ‘Body of Proof' and ‘The Road Home.'   Her stage credits include Memory House at the Merrimack Repertory Theater, Smart Cookie at The Alliance Theatre and Our Town at The Arden Theatre Company, Romeo and Juliet and Love's Labour's Lost at the Virginia Shakespeare Festival and A Shayna Maidel at the Chenango River Theatre.

She directed three collaborative plays in East Africa through the International Theater and Literacy Project, including A Midsummer Night's Dream and an adaptation of Our Town. In 2011, she was the Tanzania Director and shot the short documentary ‘The Sky is Too Far From the Land,' which premiered at the annual International Theater and Literacy Project gala in New York City.  Blumhagen is also the co-founder of the Springs Shakespeare Festival, where she produced and directed Romeo and Juliet, as well as three original plays using William Shakespeare's text and music: A Love Play, A Storm Play and Shakespeare's Into the Woods.

Blumhagen is a founding member of a lullaby band (The Sparrows Lullaby Band), which released its first  EP in 2012. She is a graduate of Wheaton College.
